We love colors — dress in bold colors as they look great on the beach, or we recommend white shirts and khaki pants, white shirts and blue pants, white shirts and blue jeans, light blue shirts and blue pants, or brown and white. Girls can also wear a white dress. Shorts are also a good idea. Small children should be dressed to match the adults. Stay away from bright reds and yellows as they tend to bloom in the sunlight.

We will take a lot of photos to make sure we have what we need and everyone has their eyes open. We do not have a set amount that we take — each session is unique. Base Family Package includes at least 35 edited ready-to-print photos, but this often turns into many more. Extended family session includes at least 55 photos or more. In 2025 most sessions ended up with 65 to 120 photos.

Once you book and pay the session retainer fee we will turn down everyone else that calls for that time slot and date, so we do not offer any refund for a cancellation. We will move your session to another date if you like, as long as the date is still open, for up to one year. We will refund your retainer fee if we cannot perform the job due to equipment problems, breakdown, or if it's raining and we cannot reschedule.

The best time is around one hour before sunset or starting at sunrise, shooting for an hour.

Yes! This is one of the best ways to order your portraits. The photo lab we use will drop ship your print framed right to your home. Normal or canvas framed prints in lots of sizes and other print items can be ordered in your custom photo gallery.

This does happen from time to time. If your photo session is rained out we will set it up for the next day if we can. Please try to set up your session a few days before you go home so we have time to keep trying. It may also rain only part of the day and we can still shoot at sunset. In the event we are unable to take your photos due to bad weather we will refund the full session fee with no delay.

We take a $200 retainer fee for the base family package and $250 for the extended family session — this is half down, or you can pay in full. The balance is due the day of the session before we start, in cash or credit card. No checks accepted. After we book your date we will be turning down other callers for that date, so the retainer fee is non-refundable.

Yes! We have shot lots of large groups and Family Reunions up to over 50 people on the beach. The larger the group the more time it takes to get everyone set, but yes we can do it.
